How to clear browsing history

 
 

You can delete your web browsing history by following these simple steps.

AOL

Clear your browser cookies, cache and history in AOL 9.0. Follow the steps in the solution below:

  • Open the AOL software. Click on the Keyword menu and then select the Go to Keyword option.
  • Enter Browser Settings into the search box and click Go.
  • Select the Clear My Footprints tab and then click the Select Footprints to Clear button.
  • Place a check in the boxes next to Browsing History, Cookies, and Browser Cache.
  • Click the Clear Selected Footprints button.
  • Click Close when you are finished.

Note: You can also click the Clear button out beside each of the types of footprints to clear them individually.

 

Mozilla Firefox 4.0 and higher

To clear cookies, cache and history in Firefox 4 and above:

  • Open Firefox.
  • Click the Tools menu and select Clear Recent History.
  • Click the drop-down menu Time range to clear: and select the range of history you'd like to delete. Indicate the details you'd like to delete by checking the appropriate boxes.
  • Click Clear Now.

Your cookies, cache and history have now disappeared in Firefox.

 

Netscape Navigator

To clear cookies, cache and history in Netscape Navigator 9.0:

  • Open Netscape Navigator.
  • Click the Tools menu, and then click Clear Private Data…. 
  • Check Browsing History, Cache and Cookies check boxes. Click Clear Private Data Now.

To clear cookies, cache and history in Netscape Navigator 8.0:

  • Open Netscape Navigator.
  • Click the Tools menu, and then click Options.
  • Click the Privacy tab, and then click Clear next to Search History, Cookies and Cache.

To clear cookies, cache and history in Netscape Navigator 7.0:

  • Open Netscape Navigator.
  • Click the Edit menu, and then click Preferences.
  • Click on the arrow next to Navigator, and then click History. Click Clear History and Clear Location Bar.
  • Click on the arrow next to Privacy & Security, and then click Cookies. Click Manage Stored Cookies.
  • Click Remove All Cookies, and then click OK.
  • Click on the arrow next to Advanced, and then click Cache. Click Clear Memory Cache and Clear Disk Cache. Click OK.

Poof! Your cookies, cache and history has disappeared in Netscape Navigator.

 

Google Chrome

A. If you are logged in to your Google account:

You can delete all of your past searches from your Web History. However, removing individual searches may be more beneficial than clearing your entire Web History, since your history helps you get better results and recommendations.

  • Visit your Web History page at google.com/history.
  • In the top right corner of your Web History page, click the gear https://storage.googleapis.com/support-kms-prod/SNP_126DBB22AE54ABDABDB8176A4FAE1EC6CD98_3374715_en_v0 > Settings.
  • Click Delete all, then click the Delete all button to confirm.

 

B. If you are not logged in to your Google account, or do not have one:

Click on the icon with three horizontal lines in the upper right corner on your toolbar. On the dropdown menu, click on History. This will bring up a list of your web browsing history.

  • If you want to clear the entire history, click on Clear browsing data…

          Then select what you want to delete and from when, and

          then click Clear browsing data.

  • If you want to delete only certain searches, you can check off individual searches on the list of your web browsing history. Then click on Remove selected items.
